Several Gophers Having Strong Summers

The Golden Gophers have several players who are off to great starts in their respective summer leagues.

Austin Lubinsky is currently 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 13.0 innings of work for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League. He has made two starts in the Cape Cod League this summer, throwing six shutout innings in his first performance and followed that up with seven shutout innings in his second outing. His 0.00 ERA is tied for the lowest in the league. The Brewster Whitecaps were first place in the East Division at 11-3 as of June 29. AJ Pettersen leads the Hyannis Harbor Hawks with seven runs in his first 11 games.

Kurt Schlangen is also currently second in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball in batting average at .452. He is 14-for-31 with nine runs, five stolen bases and four doubles in 10 games. Schlangen plays for the North Fork Osprey who is in first place in the Hampton Division, and has the best record in the league at 13-4. Ethan Liederman is also playing for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles who are tied for first in East Division of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

The Golden Gophers also have three players in the Northwoods League. Troy Larson is playing for the Mankato Moondogs, Ryan Abrahamson is on the Brainerd Lake Area Lunkers and Tim Ryan is pitching for the Waterloo Bucks.
