Fans of all ages flocked to TCF Bank Stadium decked out in maroon and gold on Saturday to show their excitement for the upcoming Gophers football season.
The 2010 Fan Fest gave fans an opportunity to take part in several fun-filled and family-friendly activities including a football toss, an obstacle course and miniature basketball free throws, as well as an opportunity to have pictures taken with Goldy.
"I'm very excited about the start of Gophers' football," Gophers football fan and TCF Bank Stadium donor Rick Hughes said. "It's nice to be able to come out to events like this and see the team in action before the season starts."
Following the scrimmage, fans got the chance to meet some of their favorite players face to face and get autographs as well as have the opportunity to walk on the game field at The Bank.
Fans took advantage of showing their admiration for the Gopher players as well as offer words of support for the season ahead. The players took the time to show the fans how important their support is to the success of the football program.
"It's important [to have fan interaction]," Minnesota redshirt sophomore Ed Cotton said. "It kind of gives us another element to our fans, not only do we get to hear them cheer for us and that but it lets us interact with them, ask them how their day went and how they liked the scrimmage and everything."
