Gophersports: What are you most excited about starting at the U?
Erin Caflisch: I am most excited about meeting new people and training with the team.
GS: How does it feel to represent your home state?
EC: It is a great feeling to know that I will be representing Minnesota this fall! I think it is going to be an outstanding year and I can't wait to see how well the team does.
GS: How does it feel to join a team again after swimming unattached last season?
EC: Swimming unattached for the past two years was a great learning experience for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my coach, Erik Collins, and I think we were able to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. One thing that I did learn was to never take for granted the importance of a team. I am very eager to be back in the water with teammates, and I can't wait to spend my next four years at Minnesota with a great group of girls that are there for support and motivation in and out of the water!
GS: What are your goals for your career at Minnesota?
EC: My goals for my career at Minnesota are to final at Big Tens and NCAAs, help the team win four Big Ten titles, and help the team place in the top 10 at NCAAs.
GS: What are your summer plans?
EC: I trained for Speedo Sectionals in July and I will also be teaching swimming lessons.
