The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics team continues its season-long trend of facing some of the top teams in the country as it travels to Oklahoma on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The No. 7 Gophers will be facing the No.4 ranked Sooners after finishing last week's home meet just behind No. 1 Illinois but well ahead of No. 10 Nebraska.

The Gophers will be looking to continue to build on their positive momentum moving forward but also know that there will be new challenges as they take to the road.

"It's always tougher to compete on the road," Minnesota head coach Mike Burns said. "Yet these guys [the Gophers] have a lot of resiliency and I'm really impressed with how they just keep stepping up."

The Gophers will be entering the meet with several athletes ranked amongst the top competitors in the country. Zack Chase, fresh off being names Big Ten Freshman of the Week, is currently ranked No. 14 on the vault and No. 20 on the floor exercise. DJ Repp is ranked No. 4 on the vault and No. 16 in the all-around. John Scallon is No. 6 on the pommel horse.

However, the Sooners will have several high-ranking athletes of their own as they have at least one athlete ranked in the top 10 of every event.

"We're getting our sea legs underneath us and figuring out proper lineups," Burns said. "It's good to have tough competition because these guys have to step-up right away."
