Kyle Geason hit a home run and two RBI, while Andy Henkemeyer had a triple and three RBI to lead the Maroon Team to a 10-8 win over Gold Team, Friday, Sept. 30 at Siebert Field. With the win, the Maroon Team improves to 2-1 in the Steak 'N Beans Series, with another game on Saturday, Oct. 1 at noon. The game marks the annual Parent's Day and is also free admission.

After the Gold Team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Maroon Team responded by scoring eight runs in the top of the fourth. The Gold Team tried to battle back, scoring a run in the bottom of the fourth and two each in the bottom of the fifth and sixth. However, Maroon added two additional runs in the top of the fifth and sixth to win the game.

On the day, Geason connected on three hits and two RBI as well as scoring two runs in four at bats. Henkemeyer had three RBI on his triple as well as scoring a run in four at bats. Tony Skefte also had two RBI on a hit and also scored a run in four at bats. Matt Halloran went 2-4 with a double and scored a run, while Troy Larson and Jake Bergren also had RBI.

TJ Oakes, Dustin Klabunde and Drew Ghelfi combined for the Maroon win in seven innings. Oakes started the game and pitched three innings, allowing three runs (two earned), while striking out one against 14 batters and was the winning pitcher. Klabunde faced nine batters and allowed three earned runs and struck out one. Ghelfi closed out the game and pitched two innings. He allowed two runs, none that were earned and allowed two hits.

On the Gold side, JT Canakes went 3-4 with a double and three RBI as the designated hitter. Dan Olinger had three hits, including doubles, had an RBI and scored two runs in four at bats. Mark Tatera had two RBI on two hits and scored a run, while Michael Handel had a double, an RBI and went 2-3 with a sacrafice fly.

Austin Lubinsky started for the Gold Team and went three innings. During that span, he faced 10 batters and allowed just one hit and held his opponent scoreless. Kevin Kray pitched 1.1 and allowed eight earned runs and was the losing pitcher. Billy Soule pitched 2.2 and faced 11 batters. He allowed one earned run and struck out two.
