Through the first 36 holes of the Lady Northern Invitational, Minnesota is in 12th place with a combined score of 628 (+60). Banchalee Theinthong leads the Golden Gophers, and will begin the final round at the Donald Ross Golf Course tied for eighth place with a two-round score of 148 (+6).
Theinthong's second-round 71 is her career best score, and her 36-hole score was by far the Gophers' best of the day. Carmen Laguna (50th) is at 17 over par with rounds of 78 and 81. Sarinee Thitiratanakorn (t-51st) follows Laguna with a 78 and an 82. Jackie Shepherd (t-56th) started the day with an 85, and had a better second round of 76. Aubrie Nelson (66th) posted an 85 and an 82. Playing as an individual, redshirt freshman Taylor Quinn (t-61st) shot an 84 and a 79.
Ohio State leads the Big Ten-heavy field with a 5-over-par score of 583. Michigan is eight shots behind in second place. The Buckeyes' Kendall Price tops the individual leaderboard with a 2-under-par 140. The Wolverines' Meagan Bauer trails Price by five strokes for second place. Theinthong currently sits two shots back from a tie for third.
