Minnesota Concludes Fall Season with a Sixth-Place Finish

Minnesota closed out the fall portion of its season by finishing sixth at the Wendy's Kiawah Classic. The Golden Gophers' team score was 912 (+48). Jon Trasamar finished tied for 11th to lead the squad.
Trasamar's score of 222 (+6), with a 75 in the final round, gave him his third top-20 finish of the year. Erik Van Rooyen posted a final-round 73 to finish tied for 24th (227). He made his third eagle of the tournament on the 13th hole, which he also eagled Monday. Tim Peterzen's 74 was his best round of the week, and he finished with a total of 234. David Haley Jr., with an 81 today, also finished at 234. Robert Bell shot an 82 (241).
Both the team and individual competitions ended in a tie for first place. Kennesaw State and Campbell both finished at a 17-under score of 881. Vaita Guillaume (Campbell) and Andres Pumariega (George Washington) share medalist honors with scores of 214 (-2).
This tournament concludes the fall season for the Gophers, and their next event will be Big Ten Matchplay Feb. 10-11.
