The Minnesota women's cross country team will make its seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Golden Gophers received one of 13 at-large berths into the national field, announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. The NCAA Championships will be run in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday, Nov. 21.

Minnesota has fought through some adversity over the last month with its very young team, but the Gopher coaching staff couldn't be more proud of how their team competed at this past weekend's NCAA Midwest Championships.

"We are simply thrilled to make our seventh straight trip to the NCAA Championships and our 12th in 15 years," said long time Minnesota leader Gary Wilson. "It is a real tribute to the perseverance of these kids. They have overcome so many setbacks this season and ended up on top. We could not be more proud of them."

The Big Ten will be represented by five teams at the NCAA Championships: Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin will be competing. Penn State and Wisconsin joined Minnesota as earning at large-bids, while Michigan and Michigan State each received automatic bids.
