No. 3 Minnesota Wins 4-1 Against No. 4 Duluth

Led by senior captain Jen Schoullis who scored two power play goals, No. 3 Minnesota improved to 9-2-0 and 7-2-0 in WCHA games with a 3-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth at Ridder Arena. The Bulldogs fall to 4-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in WCHA play.
Neither team scored in the opening period, as the Bulldogs tallied eight shots while the Gophers had five. The five shots was the lowest in a period for the Gophers at home this season, and their lowest since the 3-2 loss at
Despite being outshot by the Gophers, the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Kacy Ambroz seven minutes and 54 seconds into the period.
The Gophers took the lead nine minutes and 11 seconds into the third period as senior Sarah Erickson crashed the net, getting her first goal of the game and sixth of the season. The goal was Erickson's second gamewinner of the season. Kessel's linemates Jen Schoullis and Amanda Kessel were credited with assists.
The same teams face off again tomorrow at Ridder Arena with a 4:07 p.m. game time.
