Eckstrom Named to Big Ten All-Tournament Team

Senior Shari Eckstrom was honored on Sunday by being named to the Big Ten Conference All-Tournament Team. The midfielder tallied four shots with two being on goal. She also assisted freshman Taylor Uhl on the Golden Gophers' game-winning goal last Wednesday versus Wisconsin.
The Brooklyn Park, Minn. native notched a total of 13 points (four goals, five assists) this season, which boosts her career total to 42 points (14 goals, 14 assists). She also finishes her time as a Gopher ranked ninth all-time in career shots with 181.
Eckstrom is one of four seniors that the Maroon and Gold graduate from this year's squad. She is joined by Alex Pafko, Katie Roberts-Carlson and Josie Solie.
Minnesota's postseason run was cut short this past Friday as No. 10/11 Penn State outscored the Gophers 3-1 in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament. The Nittany Lions would go on and fall in the championship game to the second seed Illinois, 2-1 in overtime.
