Chase Named Freshman of the Week

For the second time this season, University of Minnesota gymnast Zack Chase has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

Chase picked up a pair of top-two finishes over the weekend in Brockport, N.Y. Chase earned a career-high score of 15.100 in the floor exercise, good for first place. The Gopher newcomer also took second on the vault, posting a 16.100, and finished sixth on the pommel horse with a 14.100.

Chase's performance led the eighth-ranked Gophers to their highest score of the season and a tri-meet win over No. 11 Air Force and No. 19 Brockport.
