The Gopher Sports Spotlight shines on one of the best swimmers in Minnesota history, senior Jillian Tyler. Jillian set Gopher history when she captured her fourth consecutive Big Ten title in the 100-yard breaststroke. Now the Gophers’ nine-time All-American turns her attention to the NCAA Championships where still more history awaits. Jillian is poised to become the first Gopher to earn All-America honors in the same individual event all four years in a career.

Jillian broke her own 100 breast school record twice this season and added the 200 breast record at the Big Ten Championships. Impressively, both those record were set without Jillian tapering for her performance. Her 100 time of 58.08 seconds is the fastest in the nation.

The NCAA schedule features the 100 breast on Friday and the 200 breast on Saturday. Gopher fans can watch those races on ESPN3.com.
