Three Goals in Second Lead to Wisconsin Win

No. 1 Wisconsin used a three-goal scoring spree in the second period and earned a 3-0 win over North Dakota in the first game of the WCHA Championships. With the win, the Badgers advance to the WCHA Championship game, tomorrow, at 7 p.m. at Ridder Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Wisconsin scored an even-strength, a short-handed and a power-play goal to go up, 3-0 after one. Carolyne Prevost scored an even-strength goal at 6:18 in the second with the assist to Kelly Nash. Brianna Decker went on to score her 32nd goal of the season on a short-handed attempt at 11:28, with a single assist credited to Meghan Duggan. The Badgers concluded the second-period scoring drive at 18:14 when Mallory Deluce scored a back-door, power-play goal for the 3-0 cushion.
