Golden Gopher Gymnasts Hold Season-Ending Banquet

The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics team put a bow on its 2011 season Friday afternoon. The Golden Gophers held their annual season-ending banquet at TCF Bank Stadium in the M-Club Room.
Head coach Mike Burns and assistant coaches Russ Fystrom and Kostya Kolesnikov passed out team awards for the 2011 season. They are as follows:
Most Improved Competitor - Ross Cameratta
Outstanding Freshman - Zack Chase
Outstanding Championship Competitor - DJ Repp
Most Conscientious Gymnast - Michael Paulus
Coaches' Appreciation Award - Matt Frey
Most Inspirational - Ali Aleiou
Spirit of the Gopher - Adam Kern
Rookie of the Year - Josh Wokurka
Most Tenacious - Michael Hillin
Most Valuable - Ross Cameratta
In addition to the above awards from the 2011 season, the Gophers announced their captains for the 2012 season. Cameratta and Adam LaFleur will serve as the team leaders for next season.
