Pintusava Named Second Team All-Big Ten

Pintusava, who missed seven matches this spring with an injury, is 18-14 overall in singles. She posted an 11-5 record in the fall and advanced to the final of the ITA Central Region Championship. She played all 16 of her spring matches at No. 1 singles and had a 7-9 record, which included a loss in today's first round at the Big Ten tournament.
She is 3-3 against ranked competition this season and has wins against No. 23 Sanaa Bhambri of North Carolina State, No. 27 Michaela Kissell of Marshall and No. 121 Amy Barton of Michigan State.
Minnesota beat Iowa 4-2 in the first round of the Big Ten tournament this morning and will face top seed and tenth-ranked Michigan at 9 a.m. on Friday in the second round.
