Future Gopher Q&A: Adam Zutz

In the second of our series of features on the incoming freshman class on the men's cross country team, gophersports.com talked to Adam Zutz.
Zutz graduated from St. Francis High School and was coached by Becki Hanson and Andy Forbort. As a senior he was awarded All-state honors and won the individual state championship. Zutz was the 2010 Minnesota Gatorade Cross Country Runner of the Year and a three time Academic All State winner. He also won the 2010 Griak Gold Division race.
GS: Why did you first decide to become a runner?
AZ: Running is just something I always enjoyed and wanted to do, I'm not really sure why.
GS: What made you want to come to Minnesota?
AZ: I like the strong academic programs, a running program with a tradition of success, and the atmosphere of the university.
GS: What are you most looking forward to in college?
AZ: Competing and training at a higher level, and learning a ton in school.
GS: Do you have any pre-race rituals?
AZ: Nope.
GS: What is some of your favorite music to listen to?
AZ: Classic rock, alternative, electronic, rap, country, reggae, funk…so pretty much anything.
GS: What are your favorite movies?
AZ: Hot Rod, Good Burger, Anchorman, Due Date… I watch mainly comedies.
GS: What are some talents or skills you have outside of running?
AZ: Unicycling and Juggling
GS: What do you plan to major in?
AZ: Engineering, not exactly sure what kind yet.
GS: Do you have a favorite sports movie?
AZ: Chariots of Fire or Miracle (My dad was at the actual game)
GS: What are some of your goals for your first season as a Golden Gopher?
AZ: Have a lot of fun, learn a lot, stay healthy and run some fast times
