The 2011 Gopher Women's Hockey Golf Open is scheduled for Monday, September 19 at the Indian Hills Golf Club in Stillwater, Minn. The event is organized and run by the women's hockey booster club, the Power Play Club. This year's edition of the annual golf outing features some changes, but will still include all the fun of previous events.
The GWH Golf Open moves to the Indian Hills Golf Club this year, one of the top private golf courses in the Twin Cities area. Registration for the event will begin at 11:45 a.m. with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Following the golf portion of the event, participants will enjoy a social hour, buffet dinner and program with prizes and a raffle.
With the move to a September date, all members of the 2011-12 Golden Gopher women's hockey team will be present at the event. The student-athletes will participate in all portions of the event, giving tournament players a unique chance to interact with the team.
The entry fee for the GWH Golf Open is $125, and includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, a gift, and the buffet dinner. All proceeds generated from the event directly support the University of Minnesota women's hockey program.
The tournament is limited to the first 128 paid registrants, so get your registration in early!
Fans and supporters of the Gopher women's hockey program who are not interested in golfing are encouraged to participate by attending the banquet only, or by making a donation. In addition to monetary donations, contributions of raffle prizes are also needed.
GWH Golf Open sponsorships are available, starting at $100 for a green sponsorship. Tournament title sponsorships are $5,000.
