Gopher Baseball Starts Fall Practice

The University of Minnesota baseball program held its first practice of the fall season today, Sept. 15, at Siebert Field. The Golden Gophers met as a group at 2:45 and practiced throughout the afternoon until 5:30 p.m. During that time, the Gophers worked on many aspects of the game, including base-running, hitting fundamentals, catching and double play feeds, while the pitchers threw. After the outfielders and infielders practiced pop-ups and fly ball techniques, the team broke into four groups around 5 p.m. and worked on hitting, base-running and defense.
Minnesota will host its annual Steak N' Beans Series, starting Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24 at Siebert Field. Check back to gophersports.com for the Maroon and Gold teams as well as times for the full series.
