Shepherd 14th, Gophers 15th Through Two Rounds

On a day of the Golfweek Conference Challenge that saw the field's average score increase by 2.84 strokes from round one, Minnesota junior Jackie Shepherd improved her score by four strokes. Windy conditions and difficult greens and pin positions made it a rough day overall. As a team, the Golden Gophers are in 15th place with a combined score of 626.
Shepherd posted a round of 73 (+1) to lead the team today. She is tied for 14th with a two-round score of 150 (+6). Banchalee Theinthong is three shots behind Shepherd after shooting an 81 today. Carmen Laguna and Aubrie Nelson each posted an 85, and Sarinee Thitiratanakorn an 89.
Oregon, which came into the day tied for second, has taken over the lead with a combined team score of 601. Mississippi, Denver, and Pepperdine (all at 606) share second place. Natalie Gleadall and Grace Na retained their position at the top of the individual leader board. They each have a two-round score of 143 (-1).
The third and final round of the Challenge will begin tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT. Live results will again be available on golfstat.com.
