Emily West was called for body checking 17 minutes into the period, giving MSU a power play opportunity. The Mavericks capitalized and tied up the score at 1-1, as Lauren Zrust scored for MSU nearly 18 minutes into the period. The tie didn't last long as
The Gophers got a power play opportunity nine and a half minutes into the third period, and Rachel Ramsey took advantage, getting a power play goal just past the 11 minute mark to give the Gophers a 3-1 lead. Mira Jalosuo and Sarah Davis had assists on the goal. MSU was called for another penalty less than a minute later, and again the Gophers capitalized on the power play. This time Emily West scored with assists from Sarah Davis and Jen Schoullis. The score would remain at 4-1 for the remainder of the game.
The Gophers improve to 22-4-2 with the win, including a 16-4-2 mark in WCHA play.
