Gophers Jump Into Top 10 in the Country

The University of Minnesota men's track and field team jumped 10 spots in the last national polls. Minnesota is currently ranked No. 8 in the country after being No. 18 in a week ago. They are the highest of six Big Ten teams in the top 25.
Last weekend the Gophers finished first at the Bill Bergan Invitational with 62 points. Harun Abda and David Pachuta each set NCAA qualifying marks in the 800m. Both of them are the fastest in the country right now after Abda ran a 1:46.97 and Pachuta was right behind him clocking in at 1:46.98. Abda was also named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week for his first place finish.
The Gophers will send a group of throwers to this weekend's Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, NE.
