The University of Minnesota welcomed Twin Cities media members out to the new Siebert Field as the Golden Gopher baseball team continued fall ball practice. The Gophers have now had a few days to practice on the new Mondoturf, while PCL continued work construction work on the dugouts, pressbox and grandstand levels.

Coach John Anderson spoke with media members at 2 p.m., while individual players started filtering in at 2:15 p.m. Media members were milling around as they checked out the new turf and got a first-time glance at the construction process.

With PCL and Mondoturf giving the Gophers the green light to practice Friday, it was the first media event held on the new field. Represenatives from both PCL and Mondoturf were also on hand to answer media questions.

The Gophers will continue practice throughout the month of October. Check back to gophersports.com for additional Siebert Field construction updates.
