Collegeswimming.com announced Tuesday that University of Minnesota junior Kyler Van Swol was named the Counsilman Hunsaker Division I Swimmer of the Week for his performance against Big-Ten rival Iowa last weekend.

Van Swol, who was also named this week's Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, won three of the four events in which he competed against the Hawkeyes, including the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly and as a member of the 200 medley relay.

His 100 fly time of 47.82 was the fastest time nationally this season, while his 200 fly time of 1:47.47 was the sixth-fastest nationally and the fourth-best in the Big Ten. Both marks were also NCAA provisional qualifying times.

As a member of the 200 medley relay, Van Swol and the Gophers posted the second-fastest time (1:29.06) in the Big Ten and the third-fastest nationally this season. Van Swol also posted a time of 1:51.40 in the 200 individual medley.
