Gophers Wrap Up First Day at ISU Classic

The Minnesota women's track and field team wrapped up their first day at the ISU Classic. Action is taking place inside the Lied Recreation Center and no team score is being kept. The Gophers had a handful of high performances today and will finish up things tomorrow.
Chimerem Okoroji finished second in the 60m dash prelims with a time of 7.53. The Gophers Kylie Peterson (7.67) and Sasha Davis (7.68) each qualified for the finals as well tomorrow.
Megyen Geyen took fifth in the 400m after finishing with a time of 56.55 for Minnesota and Annie Talajkowski clocked in at 17:35.76 in the 3,000m, along with Claire Rindo at 17:55.48.
In the field events DeAnne Hahn finished second overall in the weight throw with a toss of 17.79m (58-4 ½). Jeri Johnson-Chambers also threw a 16.27 (53-4 ½) in the same event. Hahn also took fifth in the shot put with a mark of 14.30m (46-11).
