University of Minnesota gymnast Zack Chase has been named Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week along with Penn State's Felix Aronovich.

This is his first time receiving the award. Chase is the first Minnesota Gymnast of the Week since Aaron Fortunato in January 2010.

The sophomore from Woodinville, Washington finished first in all three of his events this past weekend. He posted a 14.8 on the floor exercise, a 14.7 on the vault, and a 14.5 on the rings to help lead the sixth-ranked Gophers over No. 11 Nebraska and No. 12 Iowa.

"It's always exciting when one of our guys get voted as Big Ten Gymnast of the Week," head coach Mike Burns said. "It's a real tribute to Zack's attention to detail both inside and outside of the gym. He's a talented guy with the potential to be a game-changer every time he competes."
