The Golden Gophers will enter the final round of the FAU Spring Break Championship in 12th place. Their team score after 36 holes sits at 587 (+19) after a 290 today. Four of five Minnesota players posted lower scores today than yesterday.
Erik Van Rooyen appeared to be on track to tie or improve upon yesterday's 1-under 70, but bogeys on his last two holes gave him a 72. Despite being the only Gopher to shoot a higher score on the second day, Van Rooyen still leads the team at even par on the tournament, and will start tomorrow's round tied for 19th place. David Haley Jr. recorded the team's lowest round today, a even-par 71, and enters the final round at 5-over for the tournament. Robert Bell posted a 73 and is 7-over. Tyler Lowenstein (+7) and Jon Trasamar (+12) each turned in a 3-over 74.
Florida State built its lead up to seven strokes, with a two-day score of 556 (-12). The Seminoles' Brooks Koepka also retained a share of the lead. He and Thomas Dunne of Northern Illinois are 6-under entering the final round.
