The Golden Gophers finished tied for 11th at the FAU Spring Break Championship in Lake Worth, Fla. Minnesota's total team score of 880 (+28) tied them with Connecticut. Erik Van Rooyen finished in a tie for 24th at 4-over-par for the tournament.
Van Rooyen posted his highest score of the weekend today, a 75 (+4). David Haley Jr. (t-30th) finished close behind after his second straight even par round. Tyler Lowenstein turned in a 2-over 73, finishing 9-over on the weekend. The only blemish on his scorecard today was a triple bogey on the sixth hole. Robert Bell eagled the par-5 first, and finished with a 74 (10-over on the tournament). Jon Trasamar (+21 overall) shot an 80 Sunday.
Florida State led throughout the tournament and won by 19 strokes with a score of 829 (-23) after an 11-under day. Seminoles filled the top three spots on the leaderboard, with Brooks Koepka capturing medalist honors at 14-under.
Minnesota's next event will be the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. (March 31-April 1).
