Game Day Tid-Bits:
• Minnesota won for the third time as the #10 seed with the overtime win over Northwestern. The Gophers are 2-0 in B1G Tournament games that go into overtime.
• The Gophers are now 8-6 all-time in B1G Tournament first round games and 13-14 overall.
• Tubby Smith is 35-14 in conference tournament action as a head coach, including 7-4 at Minnesota. He has now won at least one game in 16 of 19 conference tournaments.
• Smith will be going for his 100th career win at Minnesota. He won his 400th career game against Michigan in Ann Arbor during the 2008 conference season. Only seven coaches in program history have won 100 or more games. L.J. Cooke (1897-1924) tops the list with 250 career wins.
• The Gophers are facing Michigan for the fourth time in Big Ten Tournament history and hold a 1-2 record in the previous three. The last matchup came in the 2007 tournament, a 49-40 Michigan win.
• This will be just the second game between the two teams this season. Michigan won the only regular season matchup, 61-56, on New Year's Day in Ann Arbor. Trey Burke led all scorers with 27.
• Andre Hollins established career-highs in points (25), field-goals (10), field-goal attempts (17), three-point field-goals (5), and three-point field-goal attempts (10) against Northwestern, his first career B1G Tournament game.
• Hollins' five three-point field-goals tied Quincy Lewis (3/7/98) and Kerwin Fleming (3/8/01) for most by a Minnesota player in a B1G Tournament game.
• Minnesota & Northwestern both finished 11-26 from three-point land on Thursday evening. The 22 combined treys are the most three-point FG's made in a Big Ten Tournament game.
