Minnesota sits in eighth place after tallying a score of 308 (+20) on day two of the Big Ten Championship in French Lick, Ind. After three rounds at the Frank Dye Golf Course, Minnesota has carding a combined score of 913 (+49).

Minnesota continues to be lead by Erik Van Rooyen. He shot a third round score of 74 (+2) and is in a tie for ninth for the championship. Robert Bell had a major rebound round, carding a 74 (+2). Today's round was seven strokes better than either of his two rounds Friday.

Tyler Lowenstein and Jon Trasamar were unable to build off their spectacular second rounds. Lowenstein carded a round of 80 (+8) and Trasamar shot a round of 84 (+12). Lowenstein is in a tie for 27th. David Haley Jr. posted a score of 80 (+8) in the third round. It represented a two-shot improvement from his second round.

Three-time defending champion Illinois continues to lead the championship. The Illini hold a seven-stroke advantage on its' nearest competition. Indiana and Michigan State are tied for second. Illinois' Luke Guthrie leads the individual competition by a commanding seven strokes over Michigan's Matt Thompson. Guthrie has a score of 210 (-6) through three rounds, he shot a 67 (-5) Saturday to create the gap.

The Gophers will be back in action on Sunday in the final round of the championship. Minnesota will be paired with Purdue on Sunday.
