Four Gopher Men Compete on Fourth Day of Olympic Trials

Four members of the Minnesota men's swimming team competed on the fourth day of the U.S. Olympic Trials Thursday at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., with junior Derek Toomey pacing the quartet with a 33rd-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle.

Toomey completed the event in a time of 50.41, while recent graduate Zach Bolin posted a time of 51.93 to finish 137th overall in the event.

Seniors Jared Anderson and Josh Hall competed in the 200-meter breaststroke for the Gophers, with Anderson notching a time of 2:17.85 to place 48th overall and Hall finishing in 2:22.59 to place 104th overall.

Tomorrow morning's preliminary schedule includes the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter individual medley. The evening will include semifinals of both events, as well as finals for the 200-meter breaststroke and 100-meter freestyle.
