Anderson Places Fourth To Close U.S. Olympic Trials

Former Golden Gopher Gabriele Anderson competed for her ticket to London in the 1,500m final today to help wrap up the last day of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.
Anderson easily cleared the Olympic A Standard time of 4:12.93, but narrowly missed a spot on the Olympic roster. She finished with a time of 4:07.38 to place fourth in the heat, 2.21 seconds shy of the top three.
Gabriele Anderson qualified for the final race after posting a time of 4:10.08 in the event semifinals on Friday night. She was one of five former women's track and field athletes that competed in this year's trials.
