Minnesota Takes Down Hawaii in Dual Meet

The No. 15 Minnesota men's swimming and diving team improved to 3-1 Saturday after defeating Hawaii 182.5-103.5. The Gophers won 13 of the 16 events on the day.
Sophomore Luke Bushman led the Gophers with three individual titles. He won the 100 back with a time of 50.27, the 200 back at 1:50.78 and the 200 IM at 1:51.44.
Mikey Ross won both diving events on the day. In 1 meter, the senior marked a 323.95 and a 372.10 in 3 meter.
In the 100 breast, Josh Hall claimed the title with a time of 55.62, while Max Cartwright earned the victory in the 200 breast at 2:02.37.
Junior captain Derek Toomey swam a 20.46 to win the 50 free. Other individual event winners on the day included Ben Griggs in the 100 free (45.63), and Logan Redondo in the 500 free (4:29.66) and C.J. Smith in the 1000 free (9:15.41).
The Gophers won both relays against Hawaii. In the 200 free relay they finished in 1:21.77 and in the 200 medley the men came in at 1:31.08.
Minnesota will compete next when they host North Dakota on January 25 at 5pm.
