Gophers Shine At Nationals, Win Three Titles

It was another banner year for the University of Minnesota spirit squads.
The Gophers claimed three national championships at the 2013 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando over the weekend.
For the fourth straight year, Minnesota placed first in both the jazz and pom divisions. Goldy Gopher also won his second national championship in three years in the mascot division.
The Gophers placed second in the all-girl cheer division representing their highest finish ever. Minnesota was fifth in the completion last year after recording a third-place finish in 2011.
