MINNEAPOLIS - Gopher fans have the opportunity to join the Minnesota women's cross country team for an open 6-kilometer race this Saturday. The Gophers are hosting Jack's Twilight Run at Les Bolstad Course Saturday at 6 p.m., and the race is open to the public.

Fans have the chance to run on the Gophers' home cross country course. The race will feature a spectator-friendly looped route through Les Bolstad Course. Glow sticks will line the course, and all runners will receive a glow stick anklet.

This year marks the sixth annual running of Jack's Twilight Run, which honors the late Minnesota equipment manage Jack Johnson. Johnson will always be a part of the Minnesota women's cross country and track programs. After serving as the Golden Gophers' equipment manager for over three decades, Johnson passed away in February 2006 after a battle with cancer.

Race-day registration begins at 4:30 p.m., and the race is set for 6 p.m. Participation is free, but donations are encouraged. A Jack's Run hat will be given to those donating $20 or more.

Proceeds from the race are divided equally between the Jack Johnson Endowed Scholarship and the Angel Foundation of Minnesota. For more information on the Angel Foundation of Minnesota, please visit their website at www.MnAngel.org.
