THE OPENING TIP - QUICK NOTES
• The Minnesota women's basketball team concludes its three-game homestand Tuesday when it hosts Loyola in a 7:00 p.m. showdown at Williams Arena.
• Fans can watch the game live on Gopher All-Access or on the Big Ten Digital Network on BTN.com and follow live stats on Gophersports.com via Gametracker.
• The game can be heard live locally on KBEM Jazz 88.5 FM with Corbu Stathes and Lynnette Sjoquist on the call, while live updates can also be found on the Gophers' official twitter page - @GophersWBB.
• Tuesday's meeting will be the third all-time between Minnesota and Loyola, with the Gophers winning both of the teams' previous meetings dating back to 2001.
• Amanda Zahui B. was named the Big Ten Conference Player and Freshman of the Week on Nov. 25 after averaging 13.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 6.0 blocks and 3.0 assists in victories over Kansas and Navy.
• The center currently ranks sixth in the NCAA in blocks per game (3.8) and leads the Big Ten in both blocks per game and rebounds per game (11.0).
• Rachel Banham was named to the Naismith Trophy 2013-14 Women's 50-Player Watch List on Monday and has now been named to all three preseason watch lists for National Player of the Year.
• In addition to the Naismith, the guard is on the Wade Watch and Wooden Top 30 lists.
• As a team, Minnesota leads the nation with a .500 (23-46) three-point field goal percentage and also rank seventh in the NCAA with a .498 (129-259) field goal percentage.
• The Gophers have shot .426 or better in each of its five games this season, including a season-high .596 in their season-opener at UNI.
• Defensively, Minnesota has held each of its opponents to under .400 shooting and has not allowed more than 63 points in a single game.
• Minnesota is undefeated at Williams Arena in three games this season and look to stretch that to four games on Tuesday. The Gophers are outscoring their opponents by an average of 17.4 points per game at the Barn.
• Rachel Banham is currently tied for the No. 12 spot on Minnesota's career scoring register with 1,336 points and needs just 28 points to break into the top-10 on the chart. Debbie Hunter, who scored 1,363 points from 1979-83, currently occupies the No. 10 spot on the list.
• With her 18 points vs. the Midshipmen on Sunday, Rachel Banham extended her double-digit scoring streak to 21 games dating back to last season. The guard has scored in double figures in 69 of her 73 career games.
