Members of the Gopher men's basketball team took time out of finals schedule to visit patients at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital, Monday, Dec. 16. Visiting the children in their rooms, the Golden Gophers also helped decorate cookies and signed autographs for fans and their families. An annual event, the Gopher men's basketball team has been visiting a children's hospital during holiday season for many years.

It provides a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation. The hospital also is home to Minnesota's only children's behavioral inpatient unit and programming exclusively devoted to children ages 12 and younger. University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital features one of the three largest kidney transplant programs in the world specializing in infants and small children.
