Zahui B. Earns Big Ten Honors

The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that University of Minnesota redshirt freshman center Amanda Zahui B. was named the Big Ten Women's Basketball Co-Player and Freshman of the Week for the third time this season after posting her league-leading seventh double-double with career-highs of 25 points and 16 rebounds vs. Oakland.
Zahui shares Big Ten Player of the Week honors with Nebraska's Jordan Hooper.
The center connected on a career-best 11 of her 15 attempts from the field and added four blocks, a career-high three steals and two assists in the victory over the Grizzlies.
In addition, Zahui moved to sixth on Minnesota's single-season record chart with her 46 blocks on the year.
The rookie currently leads the Big Ten in rebounds (11.2) and blocked shots (3.5), while ranking sixth in field goal percentage (.534). Nationally, Zahui ranks second in triple-doubles, fifth in blocks per game, 18th in double-doubles, 21st in rebounds per game and 53rd in field goal percentage
Zahui was also named the league's player and freshman of the week on Nov. 25 and Dec. 9, while earning freshman of the week honors on Dec. 23.
