DiBenedetto Places Seventh On High Bar At Winter Cup

Minnesota freshman Daniel DiBenedetto completed competition at the Winter Cup tonight. He joined Ellis Mannon and Zack Chase in the event, but was the lone Gopher to advance to the second day of competition.
DiBenedetto did well on the high bar, finishing the event with a two-day score of 27.450 (14.200 on the first day and 13.250 on the second day) to end up in seventh place. He was also the fourth-highest scoring collegiate gymnast in the event.
He finished 31st on the pommel horse (11.550 and 13.200 for a combined score of 24.750) and tied for 30th in the parallel bars (12.250 and 12.900 for a combined score of 25.150).
DiBenedetto ended the competition with 77.350 points, which placed him in 34th in the all-around.
Next up for Minnesota is a 7 p.m. meet on Feb. 16 at Oklahoma.
