Gophers to Host Devil's Mile at Snowshoe Open

MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 23 Minnesota men's indoor track and field program is adding some spice to this Friday's Snowshoe Open with a Devil's Mile at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse. And like the name suggests, this isn't any ordinary mile run.
The rules to the Devil's Mile are simple. For every lap of the race, the last runner in the field has to drop out -- meaning seven runners who start the race won't finish the eight-lap event. The competition is open to the public with one caveat - you must have run a verified 5:30 mile.
To register for the Devil's Mile, go to http://raceberryjam.com/trackform.php. Under meet, select the Snowshoe Open and then select the Devil's Mile on the next page. Fill out the rest of the form and send in your entry. The top 20 entrants for the event--according to time--gain entry to the race. Any questions, contact Jo Rider at rider003@umn.edu.
