Gopher redshirt freshmen Alex Beckman and Amanda Beckman will compete in the heptathlon at the Kansas Relays this week. The heptathlon and decathlon will take place Wednesday and Thursday to kick off the meet.

"This will be their first heptathlon of the season," Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Matt Bingle said. "They have been training well, so I'm excited to see what they can do in Kansas."

Both Beckmans have competed in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and javelin this outdoor season. Alex has competed in the 200 meters, and Amanda has competed in the shot put.
