MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. - Minnesota dropped the opening game of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, as No. 23/25 Wisconsin scored six runs in the third inning on its way to a 10-0 victory against the Gophers.

Minnesota (22-13, 5-3 Big Ten) was held hitless in the loss by Wisconsin left-hander Meghan McIntosh, who improved to 8-2 on the season by striking out eight and walking five in her six innings in the circle.

Minnesota freshman lefty Nikki Anderson (3-2) was cruising along until the third inning, when she struck out the first two batters before the Badgers (28-5, 6-2 Big Ten) rallied for six runs with two outs. Anderson allowed six hits and six earned runs, while striking out four and walking none.

Sophomore right-hander Kelsey Kimminau came on in relief of Anderson, allowing five hits and four earned runs over the final 3.1 innings. Kimminau struck out five UW batters and issued two walks.
