SEATTLE, WASH. - Minnesota's season came to an end on Saturday night, as No. 20/23 Hawai'i defeated the Gophers, 3-0, eliminating them from the Seattle Regional despite a 10-strikeout performance by junior pitcher Sara Moulton.
Moulton struck out 13 batters in a one-hit shutout against Portland State earlier in the afternoon, and she pitched her third complete game in a little more than 24 hours at the regional.
But Hawai'i (45-12) used a two-run triple in the third and a solo home run in the fourth to post its second 3-0 victory against the Gophers and put an end to a very successful season for Minnesota.
A First Team All-Great Lakes Region and First Team All-Big Ten selection, Moulton ends her season with a record of 32-12 and 308 strikeouts.
Minnesota ends its season with a record of 36-19, its most victories since winning 37 games during 2004.
