MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. -- Six extra-base hits and a two-hit shutout by junior pitcher Sara Moulton powered the University of Minnesota softball team to an 8-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Indiana.

The Gophers (31-16, 12-6 Big Ten) won in five innings, as Moulton struck out seven batters and held the Hoosiers (19-32, 3-17 Big Ten) scoreless.

In the fourth inning, freshman right fielder Kayla Wenner hit a two-run homer over the netting in center field to key a three-run inning and help Minnesota take a 7-0 lead.
