University of Minnesota senior right-handed pitcher Drew Ghelfi was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 25th round (752 overall) of the Major League Baseball draft on Saturday, June 08, 2013.

Ghelfi marks the third Golden Gopher player to be drafted in 2013 after Tom Windle was selected in the second round (56 overall) and DJ Snelten in the ninth round (282 overall). The trio marks the first time since 2011 that three or more Gophers have been selected. Ghelfi is also the first Golden Gopher to be drafted by Milwaukee since Scott Maytas in 2010.

With a 3.86 ERA he pitched 16.1 innings and allowed seven runs and struck out nine. As a senior in 2013, Ghelfi was an Academic All-Big Ten selection after he earned his second letter. On the bump, he saw action in eight games and pitched 11.1 innings with a 1-0 record. Posting a 3.27 ERA, Ghelfi had seven strikeouts.
