University of Minnesota director of athletics Norwood Teague unveiled the athletic department's Facilities Needs Assessment and Plan today at a meeting of the Board of Regents.

The proposed facilities plan seeks to improve student-athlete experience, will change the future of Gopher Athletics, allow the university to attract and retain talented staff and will seamlessly connect athletics facilities to the university and its neighborhoods.

Phase One, Teague comes with an estimated cost of $190MM, all of which will be privately funded, Teague said. Teague expects the private fundraising campaign to last approximately 6-8 years. Phase One projects include:

Academic Center
Training Table
Football Complex
Women's Gymnastics Facility
Olympic Sport Indoor Practice Facility
Outdoor Olympic Sport Track
Men's/Women's Basketball Practice Facility
Wrestling Training Facility
