Minnesota vs. Wisconsin • Minnesota last competed against Wisconsin earlier this season in Madison. The Gopher Women beat the Badgers with a score of 218-152. Among the highlights, Kiera Janzen took first in the 1650-yard freestyle, the Gophers dominated in both diving events, and a strong freshman performance arose from Breanne Siwicki as she placed second in the 400 I.M. just tenths of a second behind a Wisconsin swimmer.
Minnesota vs. Purdue •The last encounter between the Boilermakers and the Gophers was during B1G quad duals last season. The Gophers took down Purdue 268-85. Kierra Smith had two gold finishes in both the 400 IM and 200 breast.
Ranks • The Golden Gophers are going into this weekend undefeated, with a 7-0 record. Minnesota is currently ranked No. 13 according to the NCAA. In comparison, the Purdue men are ranked No. 18 and Wisconsin is not ranked.
