Gopher Sports: Why did you decide to attend the University of Minnesota?
Rebecca Weiland: I chose to come to the University of Minnesota because the team felt like family to me, the coaches are awesome, the school is fantastic and the U is close to home.
GS: What is your most memorable swimming moment?
RW: My most memorable swimmin moment was when we won the Big Ten Championships my freshman year.
GS: What is your favorite part of being a Golden Gopher?
RW: My favorite part of being a Golden Gopher is... everything! I love the school, my team, the city. Coming to the University of Minnesota is one of the best choices I have ever made.
GS: What is your favorite pre-race song?
RW: Anything by Bon Jovi, or 80s rock.
GS: What is the best advice you have received from one of the coaches at Minnesota?
RW: Before every race, Terry tells me to go out and have fun! As a Division I athlete, that's key to remember.
GS: What's your dream job?
RW: My dream job is to become a collegiate swim coach.
GS: What is your favorite post-meet meal?
RW: BBQ pulled pork.
GS: Do you have any hobbies outside of swimming?
RW: I love to bike, hike and fish.
GS: What do you plan on doing after graduation?
RW: I plan on going to graduate school - hopefully staying in Minnesota.
GS: Want to give a shoutout to anyone?
RW: I would love to give a shoutout to all of my family and friends, without them I wouldn't be where I am now!
