Gophers Finish 13th at Betsy Rawls Invitational

Just one stroke behind was fellow freshman Celia Kuenster, who fired the low Gopher round of the day at 75 to finish at +22 (74-89-75-238). Individual competitior Emie Peronnin was one stroke behind at +23 (80-79-80) to finish tied for 58th. Rounding out the Gophers was freshman Heather Ciskowski, whose total score of +28 (76-89-79-244) earned her a 66th-place finish.
As a team, the Gophers finished in 13th place at +75 (301-332-306-939) despite shaving 26 strokes off their total score Tuesday. UNLV won the team title at +31 (284-314-297-895). Baylor's Hayley Davis was the individual medalist after finishing the tournament at -2 (65-75-74-214).
The Maroon and Gold return to action in two weeks, traveling to the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The three-day tournament, Minnesota's final fall competition, begins on Sunday, October 26 at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
AUSTIN, Texas - Three University of Minnesota women's golfers posted top-50 finishes as the final round of the 2015 Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational concluded Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Gophers was senior Carmen Laguna, who finished in a tie for 40th place at +17 (79-78-76-233). Classmate Anna Laorr's tournament score of +18 (73-84-77-234) placed her in a tie for 42nd place. Freshman Sabrine Garrison finished the tournament tied for 50th after posting a score of +21 (78-81-78-237).
