Gophers Finish Fall Slate in Las Vegas

The Minnesota women's golf team will take part in its final fall tournament this weekend, traveling to the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
The 54-hole event will be contested over three days at the Boulder Creek Golf Club, beginning Sunday morning with 7:30 a.m. PT tee times. The par-72, 6,230-yard layout will be played over the club's two courses, with the front nine holes on the Desert Hawk course and the back-nine at Coyote Run.

17 teams join the Gophers in the field, including Big Ten members Indiana and Michigan. Rounding out the field along with the host UNLV Rebels is Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico State, North Texas, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Tulsa, UC Riverside and Washington State.
Last season at the wind-shortened event, Carmen Laguna finished tied for 26th carding a four-over-par 148 (75-73), while Anna Laorr (76-76) and Sarinee Thitiratanakorn (71-82) tied for 58th, scoring a nine-over-par 153.
After Sunday's opening round, the second round continues with tee times Monday at 7:30 a.m. PT and a final-round shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. Following the trip to Las Vegas, the Gophers will not compete until February 8-10 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando.
