Gophers Move Into Fourth After Round Two in Las Vegas

San Diego State maintained their lead from round one (281-294--575) and is one-under-par for the tournament. Within three strokes of the Gophers is second-place UC Riverside (287-295-582, +6) and host UNLV in third (289-295-584, +8).
The tournament's individual leader, Haleigh Krause from San Diego State, ended the day at -11 (65-68-133).
The Golden Gophers return to action for the final round of the tournament Tuesday morning with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start.
LAS VEGAS - Freshman Celia Kuenster aced the 12th hole en route to a career-low 68 (-4), leading the Minnesota women's golf team's move up the leaderboard on the second day of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Gophers jumped three spots in the team standings after the second round to fourth place, sitting at +9.
After her first hole-in-one, Kuenster finished the day tied for 6th place (76-68-144). Senior Sarinee Thitiratanakorn also had an impressive finish, ending the round at even par (74-72-146) and tied for 15th at +2. Freshman Sabrine Garrison fired a 74 and moved up three positions to tie for 21st place (73-74-147). Senior Anna Laorr sits in a tie for 25th place after 36 holes at four-over-par (72-76-148). Rounding out the Gopher lineup, fellow senior Carmen Laguna is tied for 66th at +10 (77-77-154).
